Volunteer with Radio Adelaide

Want to Volunteer with Radio Adelaide?

Radio Adelaide is on-air 24/7, broadcasting dozens of unique programs every week. It’s all made possible by the dedication and passion of our volunteers. From presenters to tech support and behind the scenes stars, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

Whether you’re pursuing a career in media, want to build your skills, or are simply passionate about storytelling and community engagement, volunteering at Radio Adelaide is a rewarding way to get involved. We welcome people from all walks of life and backgrounds. Many of our volunteers go on to professional careers in radio, journalism, music, or media production. But just as many simply want to make a difference in their community.

You can start your journey by completing our Basic Radio Skills Course, where you’ll learn the essentials of broadcast presentation, audio production, and media ethics. From there, you can join one of our existing program teams or even propose your own show. If being behind the mic isn’t your thing, there are plenty of off-air opportunities too.

As a volunteer, you’ll not only gain real-world experience, but also become part of the rich legacy of Australia’s first community radio station. Radio Adelaide has been giving a voice to diverse communities for over 50 years—and now it’s your turn to be part of that history.
